Jeremy Felt Benjamin Move!

Benjamin has been moving quite a bit and I just absolutley love it! But of course Jeremy wanted to feel him move but Benjamin wasn't kicking quite hard enough; however he finally did! We have it documented it on June 24th between 12am and 1 am. Benjamin seems to really like to exercise his kicking capabilities at night so in the wee hours of the morning he started moving so hard that I was sure Jeremy could feel him so I nudged him awake and had him place his hand on my belly and a few seconds later he felt "a big kick!" It was soooo awesome! Even though Jeremy was half asleep he was super excited. He said the next day that was all he could think about and fully realized that he felt his son move (being fully awake definitley helped!). It was pretty awesome! So far it seems like Benjamin likes to play games, he will move around a ton and when I have Jeremy try and feel him, he will stop. But Jeremy has gotten to feel him a few more times since then and it is just a cool experience. I am looking forward to him moving a lot more!

Another Ultrasound!

A few days ago we went in for another ultrasound and we got somemore great pictures and videos of Benjamin. We can't wait to see him! I am already imagining him here with us and what he is going to look like. There are some great pictures of his face. There's also another one that is hard to make out but we are told that it means he is definitley a boy!
We continue to get more excited because it is becoming more real to us everyday. We pray over him everyday and we are so thankful for everyone who has been praying for us and our little one. We thank God for a perfect, healthy and happy baby!

Is it really the 6th month already???

We seriously can't believe how fast time is flying and how big my belly is getting! We have 3 more months to go and I just can't wrap my mind around it! I can't say I feel very prepared but I know we will be ready when Benjamin arrives.
At least we have a crib and changing table! A good friend of mine is helping me register next week so that will be one big thing off my list of "to do's." We plan to register at Target, Babies R Us and at Pottery Barn Kids.

We haven't quite decided on a specific theme for the nursery but I do know it involves green and chocolate....now I just have to find the perfect bedding and decorations! :)
Jeremy and I leave to go on our last vacation before the baby comes. We are so looking forward to it. We will be driving to New England to visit my side of the family and to show Jeremy that part of the beautiful country. We will be driving with my brother and 2 students from the school.
We plan to spend time with family, see a Boston Red Sox Game, visit Maine and see the Atlantic, visit the White Mountains and try and sneak a little time in New York City! It will definitley be busy and jam packed but I know it will be a blast!

Buying Baby Furniture!

Preparing for a baby can be pretty overwhelming and expensive so we have not been in a super rush to go out and buy things.

One evening we decided to go to Target and price a crib and changing table and when we left we were walking out with massive boxes that had an espresso crib, changing table and mattress. It barely fit in my car but we made it work. We were pretty excited about it! Jeremy had to work at 5am the next morning but couldn't help but put together crib that night. Needless to say we were both pretty tired the next day! The baby's room is starting to actually look like a baby is on the way! It definitley makes it more real and I love walking by his bedroom and seeing his crib!

Jeremy's First Father's Day!

Jeremy's first Father's Day was fun! We decided to get all dressed up for it. For those of you who know Jeremy well it is not too often he puts on a long sleeve, collared shirt!

I surprised him with a card and a cute pair of shoes that says, "Dad's Team." I just want to point out that just because it says "Dad's Team" does not mean that our boy will be a Phoenix Sun's fan! Although Jeremy thinks otherwise! I just tell him that Benjamin gets to be at home with mommy the majority of the time so it is up to me to make sure he is getting trained properly in the ways of San Antonio! :)

Blackberry Picking!

One of the fun things Jeremy and I did was blackberry picking! I have always loved doing things like that but I didn't think Oklahoma did fun things like that :). There is a farm in a town near Tulsa that grow blackberries so we went and picked blackberries, it was super hot but we had fun! Jeremy is like a blackberry picking machine! In the same amount of time it took me to fill up a quarter of my bucket he had his completley full! I pleaded the "I am pregnant so I can't work as fast as you" excuse! We ended up picking close to 5 pounds! Needless to say we gave some to family and just ate a lot of fresh blackerries; they were delicous!

We would like to introduce Benjamin Vick to everyone!

After months of talking about baby names and going through like a gazillion baby name books we would like to introduce to you all our baby, Benjamin Vick! It means Son of my right hand and no matter how many names we came across Benjamin seemed to be the only one that would stick and that Jeremy and I could agree on! :) We have not fully decided on a middle name yet; however we both like Joshua for it is Jeremy's middle name and my brother's name is also Joshua which is pretty cool.

June has been a pretty hectic month for both Jeremy and I but we are enjoying it (although we wished it would be less than 103 degrees at least on some days!). We have actually fit in some fun things and even some big baby purchases this month. Jeremy turned 27 on June 16th so we had a fun time with family and friends celebrating his existence; both Benjamin and I are pretty happy about that!

I had the chance to drive to Arkansas with my mom, her husband and our friend Melissa and we visited some good friends in the beautiful Arkansas mountains. We had nice mini road trip and enjoyed our time together!

Our little "Boop"

Well hi everyone! I started my 22nd week yesterday and am feeling good. Our little boy keeps moving and letting me know how he is doing; he doesn' move all the time but when he does it is great! Jeremy cannot wait until he can start feeling him move. The baby is about the size of a cantaloupe and can hear our voices now which is really cool!

I am starting to prepare for him by cleaning out his bedroom that has a bunch of storage stuff in it. We have already been filling his closet with items already given to us like baby toys, diapers and Jeremy's Grandma gave us some of his old books that he read when he was a kid. We plan on registering in the beginning of July and thankfully I have a good friend who is goingto help me take on this big task.

The baby has been affectionatley nicknamed "boop." The reason being is when I tried explaining to my brothers' what it felt like when he moved it was like a "boop!" They thought that was pretty hilarious and so the name has stuck. We still are in the process of thinking of names so hopefully we will have one picked out in enough time! :)

About a week ago we introduced my brother, Caleb's little girl Sakari to little "boop." It was so cute! She kept trying to find her little cousin under my shirt! She couldn't understand where the baby was; it was hilarious! Now when she talks about the baby she says, :Grae, baby (and points to my belly), and "I hold, I hold." It is the cutest thing ever! She already wants to hold the baby. I know she and little boop will have a lot of fun times ahead of them. This will be her first cousin on our side of the family. Well, thanks for reading and I love seeing your comments and if you have any great baby advice please share with me, I can use all the help I can get! :)

Starting to Move

Well, I am starting my 20th week and I am halfway through my pregnancy. When I hear "halfway" it pretty much freaks me out because we really don't know how to prepare! It is definitley overwhelming but thankfully we have great family and friends who is more than willing to help us.

I am really starting to show now to the point that it is time for some serious maternity clothes shopping. I hit the jack pot when a friend of mine told me about a Maternity Consignment Shop. I was able to buy several items for a great price, I mean who wants to pay full price for cute maternity clothes that you only wear for a short time?

I have been able to feel our boy and it is wonderful. It is such a great feeling! It started out with a roll across my belly and then periodically I would feel a "poke." Especially, at bedtime is when I noticed it the most. A couple Sundays ago (May 20th) we were sitting in church and all of a sudden I felt him give me a little shout out. I have really noticed his movement towards the end of my 4th month. Jeremy cannot wait til he can start feeling the baby but that doesn't stop him from talking to my belly and letting our boy know how much we love him. I have posted some pictures of me and my growing baby at my 4th month.

Here are a couple more video clips of the ultrasound
